OMEGA VINTAGE 18K YELLOW GOLD CHRONO, CAL. CHRO C12

If you have been following Antiquorum and Christies auctions recently, you would know that vintage Omega chronograph especially those with flat pushers are taken up by serious collectors like hot cakes, with many auction lots closed for more than US$7,000 for the stainless steel versions.    THIS ONE IS 18K SOLID GOLD and with the OLDER CHRO C12 MOVEMENT !!!!!

C: 100% original 18k solid gold Omega signed snap back case in very good condition.  Fully signed, hallmarked & referenced.  The watch measures 32mm excluding crown, 35 including and 40mm from lug to lug. Original Omega signed crown with original flat pushers.

D: 100% Original dial with patina is signed OMEGA SWISS with its applied logo.  The Applied gold indexes match the gold hands perfectly. 3 registers: Auxiliary seconds at 9:00, 30 minutes chronograph register at 3:00 & 12 hours totaliser at 6:00.

M: Very clean condition 100% Original Mechanical winding Movement is signed OMEGA WATCH CO SEVENTEEN 17 JEWELS SWISS Cal CHRO 12.  Watch keeps accurate time and all technical Chronograph functions operate perfectly. Pushers start, stop and reset properly.

HISTORY : The chronograph wristwatches were made in 1909 and were always considered as VERY SPECIAL timepieces.   While the early Omega models available since 1912 allowed for the measurement of time intervals up to only 15 minutes, with later models showing 30 minute register and this one with 12 hours indication.  Together with its other earlier models such as Caliber 28.9 CHRO, 33.3 CHRO, 27 CHRO & this special model with Cal CHRO C 12 are all getting harder to find now and fast disappearing from the trading markets to collectors’ safes……

C: New Old stock condition Stainless steel case (blue gel still intact on the back case) measures approximately 40mm excluding crown, 44mm including and and 42mm from lug to lug. Original Omega signed crowns at 3:00.  Screwback case engraved with seamonster/seahorse logo and signed "Waterproof Tested 120m".

 

OMEGA Flightmaster Chronograph was developed specifically for pilots and is one of the Omega’s most popular timepieces.

Even though the cockpit is equipped with all the necessary time measuring instruments, pilots wanted their own personal watches.  Therefore, in addition to board instruments, Omega in Biel developed special watches for the aviators who demand precision and timeliness in aviation.

From 1930s to 1940s, large wristwatches (Caliber 35.5, 37.6 and CK2000 and CK2042) were custom made for this purpose. However, besides the revolving bezel with calibration and the subsidiary seconds, these watches did not have any additional complications. 

In 1969, Flightmaster was introduced by OMEGA, with 2 crowns at 8 and 10 o'clock respectively which were needed to set the outer chapter ring calibrated for 60 minutes and the second time zone, given by a second hour hand (i.e. the additional blue hand). In addition, the watch has a chronograph mechanism with different caliber 911 (subsidiary seconds) and Caliber 910 (with subsidiary dial for 24 hours).

This is one of Omega's Largest chronographs. A highly collectible item for Omega Chrono fans. 

Flightmaster was worn by Cosmonaut, ALEXEI A. LEONOV when Apollo 18 docked with Soyuz 19 in a joint space flight project agreement between the U.S and the U.S.S.R on 18 July 1975. When Thomas Stafford and Leonov exchanged firm hand shake, on Stafford’s wrist was a Speedmaster, while Leonov was wearing an Omega FLIGHTMASTER (THE EXACT MODEL WE HAVE HERE)  - ONE OF THE BEST PROVED WATCHES IN THE WORLD OR OUTSIDE IT.

D:100% ORIGINAL MINT CONDITION Blue dial with luminous painted indexes, outer minute divisions, outermost Arabic 5 minute/seconds, subsidiary dials for the seconds, and 12-hour recorder, 60-minute register by luminous central orange “arrow” hand, the 24-hour indication by red arrow on a revolving disc, date aperture. M: Cal. 1040, rhodium-plated, 22 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring.  The movement has just been serviced. Keeps accurate time and all chronograph functions work properly.

MARK II comes with a variety of dials. This one is the black dial version that has the same dial and hands as the traditional Speedmaster and with a GRANDE POUR 15 PULSATIONS instead of the usual tachometer.

This watch is affectionately known as the “Darth Vader” by collectors due to its massive black case that resembles the helmet of Darth Vader.

Inner case back is signed with full hallmarks and correct reference number i.e. 145.023.

M: Original Cal. 861, copper-colored, 17 jewels, mechanical winding movement in very clean condition and keeping accurate time and all chrono functions work properly.    Cal. 861 was created in 1968. It was formerly called “27 CHRO C12” and used on second generation “moon watches”.

A VERY RARE OMEGA SEAMASTER CHRONO FAMOUSLY KNOWN AS the “Anakin Skywalker” because its case is lighter in color and thus suggests the young Darth Vader, before he went over to the “dark side”.

Ref. ST 145.0023. Circa 1970s.  Fine and very rare, tonneau-shaped, water-resistant, tungsten-bombarded “1200 Vickers” stainless steel diver`s wristwatch with round button chronograph, 12-hour and 30-minute registers & tachometer.

D: Black with applied luminous steel baton indexes, subsidiary dials for the seconds in black, the 12-hour and 30-minute registers in red, outer minute/seconds and 1/5th seconds divisions on a blue reserve, outermost white inclined tachometer scale graduated to 500 UPH. Luminous black and white “baton” hands, orange chronograph hands.

C: Two-body, “Pilot-line”, massive, polished, inclined tungsten bezel, integral crown and pusher guard, hooded lugs, screw-down back with Seamaster logo. There is a slight dent on the bezel near 9:00.

Inner case back is signed with full hallmarks and correct reference number i.e. 145.023.

M: Cal. 861, coppercolored, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, selfcompensating flat balance spring.

*WHAT IS TUNGSTEN??? Based on our research TUNGSTEN is a RARE gray-white heavy and hard polyvalent metallic element with extremely high melting point (3410 Degree Celsius). When used as an alloying element it increases the strength of steel at normal and elevated temperatures. Its "red hardness" value makes it suitable for cutting tools as it enables the tool edge to be maintained at high temperatures. - Now you know HOW STURDY this watch is. Hey, how many watches have you seen crafted in THIS RARE TUNGSTEN CASE and this is NEW OLD STOCK !!!!!

NEW OLD STOCK SUPER MINTY condition OMEGA SEAMASTER Cal. 861 Chronograph.  An Unique Model also referred to as the "Anakin Skywalker" Model.   This special Seamaster chrono deserves our time and effort in putting up detailed descriptions and there are at least 10 reasons why it is definitely worth your time in reading them:

1) It is a NEW OLD STOCK mint condition throughout !!

6) Mint condition original dial with very nice color combination (blue, red, black and red) which is very striking yet soothing, probably manifested by the choice of light blue color. The register at 9:00 position is the Sub second indicator. 12 Hour chrono register at 6:00. 30 minutes counter at 3:00.

7) Original White minute, hour and second hands with MINT condition orange set of chrono hands. Hey!! they even color coded the hands for your ease of usage !!!

Vintage Stainless Steel Speedmaster AUTOMATIC chronograph with 24 Hours indication by Omega. REF:ST1760012, Movement CAL :1045, introduced in 1975. SO CALLED MARK 4.5.  NEAR MINT condition throughout, with original Omega Steel bracelet.

The Cal. 1045 movement is the same as the famous Lemania's Cal. 5100, improvised by OMEGA and its reputation for refinement, sophistication, reliability and quality has led to a variety of high end watchmakers to adopt it as the movement in their chronographs.
 

D: It has a simple yet complicated NEAR MINT black and white well contrasted dial with a Date-Day window at 3:00 (quick set at crown for both day and date) and has altogether 1,2,3,4,5,6, 7 hands on this charming and robust chronograph, not many chronographs have so many hands on the dial, super complicated !!!!!

Why the need for 7 hands, you may ask? Well, it has 24 Hour indicator at 12:00 (with a clear black and grey disc).  Subsidiary second register at 9:00, 12 hour chrono register at 6:00 and a chrono minute recorder hand shaped like a "plane", on top of the hour, minute and chrono flybackhand.  It tells you the basic time, allows you to use the chrono functions, shows the day and date and even indicate the 24 hours in a day, of course it needs 7 hands to do all the jobs !!!!  Unlike many other chronos, this watch has the original Omega glass tachymeter scale on the crystal which is in NEAR MINT condition.

C: The full Stainless steel original case is in NEAR MINT condition.This case design is similar to the Speedmaster Mark IV & 125 cases which can be separated from the outer case. A design unique to only a few models.

Original Omega signed Crown and pushers. Original screwback water resistant case with omega seamonster embossed logo. Inner case back is fully detailed and referenced by OMEGA with the correct watch model reference number ST1760012 and other references. The case measures 41mm excluding crown, 43mm including and 48mm lug to lug.

M: Automatic 17 JEWELS movement Cal 1045 (Lemania version of 5100, improved by Omega) keeps very good time and all Chronograph functions operate perfectly.  Round pushers start, stop and reset properly. With the original pushers and crown of course.

Omega, the official timekeeper of the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico, created the CHRONOSTOP, the stop-second watch under the twin signs of youth and sports.  Many of you may think that all Chronostop looks the same but there are more than 8 different models in the Omega Chronostop range of watches!  They range from the young and trendy simple Chronostop to one designed for more technical purposes, with stationary scale or turning scale.  

C: Housed in its original stainless steel case in MINT CONDITION measuring 33mm excluding crown, 36mm including and 40mm form lug to lug. Waterproof, antimagnetic and shock protected. 

D: 100% original NEAR MINT Condition grey dial with very nice Formula 1 style minute markers calibration in between the minute markers for instant dial legibility combined to give the chronostop a style of its own.

To operate the chronostop, just depress & release the pusher at 2:00, the secondhand starts to run. Depress once more and Hold the push piece, the second stopped allowing you to read the elapsed time. Release and the hand returns to 12:00. The operation of push button does not interfere with the movement of the watch.

Watch keeps very good time and all functions work perfectly.

1ST GENERATION OMEGA SEAMASTER CAL.321 Vintage Chronograph. STAINLESS STEEL,

C: Original Stainless Steel snap back case in good condition with light signs of wear. On the outer side of the snap back case, you will see "SEAMASTER WATERPROOF" signature. Most other examples are without this hallmark which is normally polished off.

The watch measures 33mm excluding crown, 36 including and 40mm from lug to lug.  Original Omega signed crown. Original Round water proof pushers. 

D: 100% Original dial with signs of wear.  Applied DAGGER STYLE indexes, auxiliary seconds and 30 minutes register dials, outer Tachymeter graduation. 3 registers: 30 mins register at 3:00, sub-second at 6:00 and 12 hours register at 6:00. 

Look closer and you will notice that the hour and minute hands are of THE DAUPHINE STYLE and the other smaller hands are ARROW REGISTER HANDS, two features which are VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE 1ST GENERATION SEAMASTER CHRONO, as many that you see are normally replacement hands.

M: Original OMEGA signed Cal 321 mechanical winding movement in very CLEAN condition.  The movement is signed "OMEGA WATCH CO SEVENTEEN 17 JEWELS SWISS C.321 ADJUSTED TWO 2 POSITIONS  17764696. Omega, the official timekeeper of the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico, created the CHRONOSTOP.

There are more than 8 different models in the Chronostop range, from the young and trendy simple Chronostop to one designed for more technical purposes. This piece that we have is the model officially known as The "Countdown" CHRONOSTOP WITH TURNING SCALE.

This manual wound Seamaster Chronostop has a Colorful turning bezel with scale graduated from 60 to 0, designed for countdowns, a feature particularly useful for activities requiring countdown such as preparing radio or television programs and on film sets. The countdown is also useful for regattas. This same CHRNOSTOP was also used by Aerospace technicians to control rocket launchings and firings. Original lines and modern styling, crisply coloured hands and graduations for instant dial legibility combined to give the chronostop a style of its own. 

Not only does the CHRONOSTOP give you the exact time, with its stop second mechanism, you can:
a.  action the second-hand at will and thus set your watch to the precise second;
b. read timings to the 1/5 of a second through the white second/minute graduation under the colored bezel, between the minute markers.

Well, if you have been looking for a vintage Omega chronograph, you will know that it is just getting harder and more costly to acquire one these days.  

C: Stainless Steel Omega signed snap back case in good condition with light signs of wear near the crown and 9:00 positions.

The watch measures 34mm excluding crown, 37 including and 40mm from lug to lug. Original Omega signed crown with original flat pushers.
 

D: MINT Original Reconditioned dial is signed OMEGA SWISS with its applied logo.  The Applied silver indexes match the silver hands perfectly. The red chronograph flyback hand adds a little charm to the simple yet charming dial.   2 SUNKEN registers: Auxiliary seconds at 9:00 and 30 minutes chronograph register at 3:00.

Very nice and clear Blue outer Tachymeter graduation. Original Omega signed crown. Original Flat pushers.

M: Original Mechanical winding Movement is signed OMEGA WATCH CO SEVENTEEN 17 JEWELS SWISS Cal 320.

Movement number 16120205, evidencing that it is circa 1950s.

Watch keeps accurate time and all technical Chronograph functions operate perfectly. Pushers start, stop and reset properly.

HISTORY : The chronograph wristwatches were made in 1909 and were always considered as VERY SPECIAL timepieces.

While the early Omega models available since 1912 allowed for the measurement of time intervals up to only 15 minutes, its later models such as this one we presented here, from 1950s has a 30 minute register.

Together with its other earlier models such as Caliber 28.9 CHRO, 33.3 CHRO, 27 CHRO, this special model with Cal 320 are getting harder to find now and fast disappearing from the trading markets to collectors’ safes……

Good condition OMEGA " Speedmaster Mark III " Automatic Chronograph. Probably the LARGEST/thickest of all Speedmasters.

Ref:ST 176002, CAL 1040, the third generation speedmaster, circa 1973.

C: GIGANTIC, thick, huge and heavy stainless steel screw back case.  Thicker than Flightmaster's.  A Monster really with a diameter of 41mm !!!  The case is polished but in good condition.  Original signed crown and original pushers.  Inner case back fully signe dna dn hallmarked by OMEGA with ref: 176.002.

D: Very good condition Black original Dial has a Date window at 3:00.  60 Minute Counter from the Center.

The register at 9:00 position has both a 24 Hour indicator shown by the tiny red tip mystery hand and the Sub second indicator represented by the white longer hand.   12 Hour register at 6:00.  The minute counter is indicated by the cross shaped hand officially known as the aircraft hand.  Outer Black tachymeter graduation scale.   There are altogether 7 hands on this charming and robust chrono.

M:  Powered by a goldplated 22 Jewels Automatic Movement, Cal. 1040, Rotorwind, Shock Protection " Incabloc " with fine regulator.  It is the FIRST self-winding movement made for speedmaster !!!!

Watch keeps very good time and all chronograph functions work properly.  Fitted with rubber strap and a spare red color leather strap to match your mood.

D: Original multi color Dial.  Original luminous Hands in white and bright orange colors.

MARK II comes with a variety of dials. This one has the more colorful dial unlike the black dial version that has the same dial and hands as the traditional Speedmaster.   This dial is so popular that it is affectionately referred to by many as "THE MARK II DIAL".  Except the constant seconds hand, the hands of the timers (i.e. 30 minute chrono hand, 12 hour register hand and flyback hand) are all orange for ease of use of the chrono function.

C: Housed in a NEAR MINT CONDITION screw back Stainless Steel Case with sharp edges.  Size excluding crown: 40mm, Including crown: 44mm and Lug to lug: 45mm.  Case back is also in NEAR MINT Condition. NEAR MINT Condition mineral crystal (with only a very small light chip between 1 & 2 o'clock) with tachometer graduation under the crystal.Original signed crown and original pushers.

M: Powered by a gold - plated 17 Jewel Movement, Cal. 861 ( Lemania ), Shock - Protection " Incabloc " with fine regulator. Watch keeps very good time and all chronograph functions work properly.

Fitted with Omega signed stainless steel bracelet in very good condition.

Vintage Stainless Steel Speedmaster AUTOMATIC chronograph with 24 Hours indication by Omega. REF:ST1760012, Movement CAL :1045, introduced in 1975.  VERY GOOD condition throughout, with original Omega Steel bracelet.

The Cal. 1045 movement is the same as the famous Lemania's Cal. 5100, improvised by OMEGA and its reputation for refinement, sophistication, reliability and quality has led to a variety of high end watchmakers to adopt it as the movement in their chronographs.

Many have likened this model with Omega Speedmaster Mark IV but in my opinion, this Cal.1045 has more charm and more reasonably priced with huge potential for value appreciation.   In addition, the Mark IV only has a Date, whereas the Cal.1045 has a Day-Date functions, which is more useful.

D: It has a simple yet complicated and very nice black and white well contrasted dial with a Date-Day window at 3:00 (quick set at crown for both day and date) and has altogether 1,2,3,4,5,6, 7 hands on this charming and robust chronograph, not many chronographs have so many hands on the dial, super complicated !!!!!

Why the need for 7 hands, you may ask? Well, it has 24 Hour indicator at 12:00 (with a clear black and grey disc).  Subsidiary second register at 9:00, 12 hour chrono register at 6:00 and a chrono minute recorder hand shaped like a "plane", on top of the hour, minute and chrono flybackhand.

It tells you the basic time, allows you to use the chrono functions, shows the day and date and even indicate the 24 hours in a day, of course it needs 7 hands to do all the jobs !!!!

Unlike many other chronos, this watch has the original Omega glass tachymeter scale on the crystal which is in Excellent condition.

C: The full Stainless steel original case is in very very good condition with only light signs of wear.

This case design is similar to the Speedmaster Mark IV & 125 cases which can be separated from the outer case. A design unique to only a few models.  Original Omega signed Crown and pushers. Original screwback water resistant case with omega seamonster embossed logo.  Inner case back is fully detailed and referenced by OMEGA with the correct watch model reference number ST1760012 and other references.  The case measures 41mm excluding crown, 43mm including and 48mm lug to lug.

M: Automatic 17 JEWELS movement Cal 1045 (Lemania version of 5100, improved by Omega) keeps very good time and all Chronograph functions operate perfectly.  Round pushers start, stop and reset properly. With the original pushers and crown of course.

Fitted with an ORIGINAL OMEGA Vintage stainless steel bracelet with Omega signed clasp which is original to the watch, many of this bracelet have been replaced but is still intact on this watch.    100% Original throughout!!!!

OLYMPIC split timer

This is a highly desirable and collectible  item for Omega fans out there. 

The stopwatch is in MINT Condition and works perfectly.  Original dial in MINT 100% PERFECT condition and of course fitted with the original set of hands.

With its split second function, this was one of the stopwatches used in Olympic games and has been very well preserved in its original red plastic carrying case with original strap.

Look at the pictures for the FANTASTIC Condition this item is in.  The carrier case is signed Omega in front and on the back in white script.  Original pushers even has its original rubber tip at the pushers.  Original cushion too.

ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT IT IS VERY HARD TO FIND THIS STUFF AND ONE IN THIS FANTASTIC CONDITION IS POSSIBLE ONLY IN MANY'S DREAM.......
