Original thick, chunky, gigantic & heavy stainless steel case measuring 41mm excluding crown,
43mm including and 48mm from lug to lug. And it is
approximately 18mm thick, thanks to the super nice
looking domed crystal.
Inner
rotating diver timing bezel, adjusted through the crown
at 4:00. All the details on the
caseback are still very clear & legible, one of the best
case back on a Cricket Nautical Alarm I have seen, most
have been polished off or badly worn.

No no no, this is not another REVERSO. It is rarer than REVERSO !!! This is a very RARE TAVANNES GOLFER'S Sports BELT BUCKLE watch Circa 1928. HERMES - a brand name renowned for its leather goods was requested by the Prince of Wales to manufacture this watch. With the design of Variante Art Deco and watch-making capability of CYMA/TAVANNES, this special Sterling Silver Timepiece built in a Belt Buckle was launched in 1928, the ART DECO ERA, perfect for serious collector who collects unusual watches or plays golf. A similar timepiece is now a permanent display at HERMES' musuem. The only difference is that it was co-signed by HERMES on the dial.Crafted in a Sterling Silver case measuring 52mm lug to lug and 29mm not including crown, with very nice oxidised patina, typical of sterling silver. Very Charming indeed. Now you can enjoy your game without worrying that the vigorous impact of your hand movement will damage your treasured timepiece. When in need, look down under....I mean look at your belt buckle, to tell the time. The case has special Fliplock mechanism with a push button that allows you to flip the watch to reveal time. We all know how long a 18 hole golf session can take and don't we kind of enjoy the "break" we need with the long walk down the green and you surely do not want your watch to keep "staring at" you each time you set up your club to hit that all important swing. Perhaps that is why this watch was designed in the first place. We play golf to relax and do not want to be reminded of the time. So isn't it great that you can wear a timepiece that can "hide" the time and "appear" only when you want it to?The FLIPLOCK hinge mechanism system works perfectly both ways - open and close.
When closed, the watch locks perfectly as there is a "hole" on
the side of the case near 10:00 position that fits on to the lever
(controlled by the push button) tightly. Like a REVERSO or
HUNTER, this hinged case also serves to protect the crystal of the watch from unexpected and

IWC’s first Aquatimer Ref:812 (Cal 8541) was publicly shown at the Basel Fair of 1967 and re-designated as Reference 1812 in 1974. This piece we have here is from the first batch bearing similar Ref:812, also with a Cal.8541 automatic movement. It was serviced by IWC with museum archive paper issued on 24 March 2011 and based on the archive, it was sold on 12 August 1968, some 46 YEARS AGO!!!! D/ Original dial with aged markers. Dial is signed International Watch Co SCHAFFHAUSEN, AQUATIMER, AUTOMATIC, T SWISS T. C/ Original stainless steel case in very good condition with three distinguishing visual characteristics: a rotating internal bezel, two crowns (with fish logo), and an engraved caseback which reads: -AQUATIMER - IWC - WATERPROOF-20ATU- and a lovely engraved streamline submarine. Water resistant to 20 atmospheres or approximately 700 feet. 37mm in diameter, M/ Original IWC Cal.8541 AUTOMATIC movement keeps accurate time. A huge Vintage Rotary Aquadive Electronic Diver with Bourdon tube Oil-Filled Depth Gauge. Well, you usually see the Model 50 under the brand "Aquadive" itself, & rarely under the Rotary name. So you are looking at the RARER ROTARY version here, one with the best colour combination & in NEAR MINT CONDITION !!!With a case size of 51mm including crown (47mm excluding), 18mm thickness & a chunky bezel with bright colour combination, this extremely rare model makes a very bold statement on the wrist!! Coupled with its unique oil-filled depth gauge feature, it is not exaggerating to say that it is A KILLER WATCH !!!! If looking at all the close up pictures raised your heart beat, wait till you strap it on your wrist!!!! D/ Original blue dial signed ROTARY AQUADIVE ELECTRONIC SWISS MADE. Original special shape tritium luminescent hands & hour markers. Bright orange depth indicator hand. Striking orange & beige depth markers measuring the depth from 0 to 60 meters (please look closely for an "M" under the zero "0" marker, indicating the units of the scale). Whilst all Aquadive versions measure the depth in feet upto 200 ft, it has thus been derived that the Aquadive versions were sold in the USA and Rotary versions were sold in other markets. From the lug size of 24mm & a thickness of 18mm, you will know that this is HUGE !! And the watch head alone weighs 125 grams !!!!!! I personally can't take my eyes off the Uni-directional Stainless Steel 60 click original bezel with bakelite blue & orange insert, in near mint condition !!!! Original screw down crown. M/ Original Electronic ESA 1954 movement with 13 jewels. Water resistant to 100 meters (330 ft.) Depth Measurement to 60 meters (200 ft.) Amongst the few dial colour combinations (including blue/black, orange or black/white), I like this combination the BEST. Why??? It is the MOST STRIKING of them all !!!!!! The listing price in 1973 was US$225, US$250 when re-launched in 1975. Now? It is worth upto 10x more for one in near mint condition, like this one (forget about the bad condition ones). Probably one of the best value-keepers (if not enhancers) amongst the electronics . . . . NICE. Period.

Circa 1950s, famously known as Hour Book. A petite desk clock with a small 10 1/2 ligne wrist watch movement. A watch one would place on the desk or take it along when travelling. So, if you have not read a book for a while, this is a good reason to hold one in your hands & "read" the time from it . . .D / Original dial in good vintage condition. Signed Girard-Perregaux 17 JEWELS VIERLINGER SA SWISS MADE. Original hands set with full numerals markers. Subsidiary seconds register at 6:00 . C/ Original leather bound case shaped like a book. The watch case can be opened to be displayed on the desk or closed when placed in the pocket to avoid damage. Look at the edges of the book, the details of the pages are so nicely crafted to look like the pages of an old rare book with the right hue & shade of colors!!! . The leather book cover measures 50mm by 55mm with the watch measuring 25mm by 23mm. M/ Original GP signed mechanical winding movement keeps accurate time.Vierlinger SA was the importer of GP timepieces in Peru in the 1950's to 1960's. Constant Girard-Perregaux's brother-in-law Henri Perregaux, a watchmaker himself, gave up watchmaking around 1865 and, after becoming a partner of the GP brand, moved to Buenos Aires where he was head of the distribution, so this is one of many unusual pieces that made it to South America. I have seen only a few of this Hour Book over the past years, but none is as nice condition as this we present here. Look at the fine condition of the leather cover!!!! Must have been previously owned & treasured by a book buff . . . very nice.

There are two widely used and radically different types of compass. The magnetic compass contains a magnet that interacts with the earth's magnetic field and aligns itself to point to the magnetic poles. The gyro compass contains a rapidly spinning wheel whose rotation interacts dynamically with the rotation of the earth so as to make the wheel precess, losing energy to friction until its axis of rotation is parallel with the earth's. The magnetic compass was invented during the Chinese Cao Wei Dynasty between the 3rd century CE and 4th century AD, and was used for navigation by the 11th century. The compass was introduced to medieval Europe 150 years later, where the dry compass was invented around 1300. This was supplanted in the early 20th century by the liquid-filled magnetic compass. Magnetic compasses are also used by Chinese community to order and harmonize their environments and buildings in accordance with the geomantic principles of feng shui. This is a very interesting 521. No, not Levi's 521. I nicknamed it so as it has 5 hands, shows 2 time zones by 1 movement!! I remember seeing a vintage PATEK version of this kind of 2 time zones some years back. PATEK updated it recently with its Aquanaut Travel Time (Ref. 5164A) with additional Hour hand only, retails for US$32,300. Brand aside, this vintage one is more interesting & it shows the SECOND time zone upto the minute, with JUST ONE MOVEMENT !! D / Very good condition Beige color dial with applied markers in western arabic (2,4,6,8,10,12) & eastern arabic (٠ ١ ٢ ٣ ٤ ٥ ٦ ٧ ٨ ٩) numerals. Look closely, there are 5, yes FIVE hands on the dial with 2 separate sets of hour & minute hands showing the time for 2 different time zones & a red sweeping seconds hand. On the first picture. the first set of hands with a broader triangular shape shows 10:08 whilst the second longer & slimmer hand set shows 7:25. AND they are both controlled by ONE SINGLE movement, unlike a lot of dual time zones watches with TWO separate movements. C/ Original pink/rose gold-filled top case with stainless steel screw back case. 2 Original crowns. The larger one at 3:00 sets the time for first time zone as well as winding up the whole movement, the second crown ONLY sets the time for the second time zone. This second crown is smaller & original to the watch as evidenced by the groove on the side of the case that fits the crown perfectly. As the movement is wound up by the crown at 3:00, this crown at 9:00 is made smaller for aesthetic reasons. The screwback case is signed: PRINTANIA BREVET SUISSE 333987, ANTIMAGNETIC SWISS MADE, STAINLESS STEEL BACK, SHOCKPROTECTED WATERPROTECTED. Size: 33x35x44mm. M/ Original PRINTANIA signed mechanical winding movement is in very clean condition & keeps accurate time.

An early 8 days table clock with beautiful enamel dial depicting a house or castle set in a scenic frame. Very vibrant colours contrasting the roof of the castle over the snowy white outline of the mountains, the greenery by the house & an elegant swan on the peaceful blue lake . . . very scenic, very serene, very nice, very artistically hand painted by an artist who tried to capture the beautiful scenery he saw through his eyes into this piece of art, as if to freeze the passing of time, if not for the ticking of the miniature clock work. Look closely at the round window just above 12:00 marker, this is the alarm ON/OFF indicator. When you see red, it means the alarm is switched ON? When it is blank or without color, the alarm is switched off. How to remember this ? Well, just remember the RED window = Red alarm hand = Alarm switched ON !!. C/ Original new old stock condition stainless steel case, unworn with light signs of handling wear. Case measures 37mm excluding crown, 39mm including & 45mm from lug to lug. M/ Original movement keeps accurate time. All alarms functions work properly. Wind the crown clock-wise to wind up the alarm mechanism, anti clock-wise to wind up the watch's time keeping mechanism. When the crown is pushed in all the way and the alarm mechanism is fully wound up, turning the crown clock-wise to activate alarm (i.e. the window will turn red = ON). Turn the crown anti clock-wise to deactivate the alarm (i.e. window is blank = OFF). All through ONE crown, unlike other alarms by JLC etc that require TWO separate crowns for two separate functions.At one glance, it looks so simple, like the Igloo. Yet so complicated when you understand know how they are built . . . very interesting. Loud alarm sound too !!! Very nice size too for a vintage.

Worth noting is the special cyclops len which is placed "inside" the crystal, i.e. the surface of the crystal is smooth, unlike Rolex's which is protruding. Measuring 36 x 39 x 45mm for the gent's model, lady's measures 30x33x38mm. M/ Breitling signed 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock-absorber, self-compensating flat balance-spring. Polaris
Diver's Alarm - produced in relatively small numbers
between 1965 to 1970.
The request for a JLC diving watch was initiated by M
Lowe, who headed LeCoultre Watches Inc, the authorized JLC
distributor in the United States. Officially
termed the "Memovox Diver" and code-named "E859".
Research for the watch began in 1962, by 24th June 1963,
50 pieces of the prototype were successfully created but
these prototypes were never offered to the public.
There are at
least 5 variations of the Memovox Diver’s watch, The
1965, the 1966, the 1967, the 1968, and a special 1968
Calypso version, which was distributed only in Italy.
All five have similar design layouts of stainless steel
cases, black dials, tritium coated hour or alarm
luminous markers and a date aperture at 3 o’clock.
They also contain obvious but minor differences in the
dials and hands designs. Only 1714 pieces of all other
variations were produced and delivered.
The entire
watch, including the complicated watch case, was
manufactured in Switzerland and marketed by US
distributor LeCoultre Watches Inc as ‘Polaris’. It
is believed that the watch was named after the
excitement over the media disclosure and coverage of the
top secret submarine-launch Nuclear Missile project of
the same name, which was initiated in 1955 and the
missile first launched in 1961. Based on internal JLC research, this is the most probable source of the
name, as opposed to the more well-known ‘Polaris’, i.e.
the brightest guiding Pole Star.

connotation. In 1956, members of a Swiss Himalayan expedition relied on

HISTORY:
In 1926, Movado began to market a watch enclosed
by a rectangular case and called the “Ermeto”.
This daring watch design deviated even further from the typical pocket
watch. With respect to unconventionality the Ermeto was, following the
Polyplan, a second great success.
The name Ermeto comes from the Greek and originally meant sealed (against
the ingress of air and water). The designation “Ermeto” for the Movado model
is only intended to suggest protection of the watch against external
influences and the watch is vastly better protected than it is with a normal
pocket watch case. Movado launched the Ermeto in the market with a lavish advertising campaign
in 1926 - Movado’s FIRST BIG campaign to promote a new product !!! There
were four different sizes of Ermeto:

Nowadays, most watch dials
are made of metal, which has been processed, galvanized and printed in
numerous production stages. But long ago, watch dials were frequently
crafted from a material that has since lapsed into near oblivion:
enamel.
Enameling is a unique genre
of the fine arts. It begins when a special vitreous material is melted in a
kiln at a temperature of circa 1,200 degree Celsius, followed by cold shock
procedure called quenching before it is mixed with fine enamel powder and
applied evenly onto a thoroughly cleaned metal substrate. Afterwards, the
object is fired in a special kiln at temperatures ranging between 800 and
900 degree Celsius. Enamel's peculiar vulnerability to flaws at this
phase in the work results from the surface tensions which arise during this
stage of the manufacturing process. ALL THESE WERE DONE BY HAND !!
Considering the extraordinary high percentage of imperfect specimens which
emerge from the kiln, it is little wonder that enamel dials are
comparatively costly and that watches equipped with such dials, especially
those with PERFECT DIALS are precious rarities.

REVERSO. It is rarer than REVERSO !!! This
is a very RARE TAVANNES GOLFER'S Sports BELT BUCKLE watch Circa 1928.
HERMES - a brand name renowned for its leather goods was requested by the
Prince of Wales to manufacture this watch. With the design of
Variante Art Deco and watch-making capability of TAVANNES, this
special Sterling
Silver Timepiece built in a Belt Buckle was launched in 1928, the ART DECO
ERA, perfect for serious collector who collects
unusual watches or plays golf.
A
similar timepiece is now a permanent display at
HERMES' musuem. The only difference is that
it was co-signed
by TAVANES and HERMES on the dial.
Crafted in a
Sterling Silver case measuring 52mm
lug to lug and 29mm not including crown, with very nice oxidised patina, typical of sterling
silver. Very Charming indeed.
We
all know how long a 18 hole golf session can take and don't we kind of
enjoy the "break" we need with the long walk down the green and
you surely do not want your watch to keep "staring at" you each
time you set up your club to hit that all important swing. Perhaps
that is why this watch was designed in the first place. We play golf to
relax and do not want to be reminded of the time. So isn't it great
that you can wear a timepiece that can "hide" the time and
"appear" only when you want it to?
The FLIPLOCK hinge mechanism system works perfectly both ways - open and close.
When closed, the watch locks perfectly as there is a "hole" on
the side of the case near 10:00 position that fits on to the lever
(controlled by the push button) tightly. Like a REVERSO or
HUNTER, this hinged case also serves to protect the crystal of the watch from unexpected and
unnecessary damage.
The
bottom of the case parades all the necessary reference numbers, hallmarks
and logo, probably the most number of hallmarks I have seen on any watch.
We have included a picture of the hallmarks on the HERMES' museum piece
for your reference.
You
can now play golf with a peaceful mind i.e. not reminded of the time and
at the same time not having to worry about damaging your watch if your
swing is too great.
